After leaving Texas A& M two years later, he went to LeTourneau College in Longview, Texas.  He became chairman of the Division of Physical Education and Athletics, and established the LeTourneau Karate Team.

Jordan was the United States Karate Association National Coach of the Year in 1982, 1983, 1984, 1988 and 1989.  He has promoted twenty-four Tech students to the rank of black belt, four of these being women.
